Housing.
Housing constitutes a significant portion of our portfolio. We have designed and built projects for both commercial developers and social housing corporations, with a range that spans from small-scale developments to large apartment buildings in both low- and high-density urban areas.
Context.
Our approach is always contextual. We take cues from what is already there and expand on existing qualities to make buildings well embedded in their physical and social context in order to enhance the quality of life.
Collectivity.
Places to meet and interact are important elements of dense urban developments. Lush and green, intimate or open, these spaces counterbalance the hustle and bustle of the city.
Complexity.
Building within an existing urban environment is inherently complex. We embrace this complexity and use it as a source for site-specific and smart design solutions.
Collaborations.
We often work as part of a multidisciplinary project team alongside other architecture firms. These collaborations bring together diverse approaches and design languages, resulting in neighborhoods that are varied yet cohesive.
Craftsmanship.
Understanding craftsmanship is key to understanding how buildings are made. The proces of making is an inseparable part of our design process. Without this, projects lack the fundamental qualities of affordability and buildability.
Circularity.
Achieving Paris-Proof buildings – CO₂-neutral by 2050 – is one of our highest priorities. This means embracing demountable timber structures, bio-based and recycled materials, and favouring low-tech, passive solutions over complex, high-tech systems.
