New project: World Food Center
We have been commissioned to design a series of four sustainable office buildings within the masterplan for the new World Food Center in Ede. With a timber construction combined with a breathable, damp open facade and roof we will create fully circular and healthy buildings, aligning to WFC’s ambitions to provide healthy work and research facilities for innovative food companies.
Office: space available for rent
In our studio in the Kauwgomballenfabriek in Amsterdam Overamstel, we have space available for 10-12 people. It’s a fantastic light and open office in a former industrial warehouse with high ceilings. We share meeting space, model room, lunch and good vibes. If you’re interested, please drop us a line. More information and pictures on this page.
Office update: working from home
Due to safety measures regarding the COVID-19 situation, we will be working from home for the time being. It will take some time to fully adjust to this new reality and we hope we can welcome you to our office again soon. In the mean time: stay healthy and stay in touch. We’ll be available online.
On site: ODW renovation
With the first part of the scaffolding removed the new contour of the single family house in Sloten became visible. The rooftop addition links previous extensions to the main house in one architectural gesture, with the old contour staying visible in the new situation as a hint from the past.
Completed: Short Stay Sloten
Short Stay Sloten has been completed! We’re very proud, as this was the first major project we got commissioned four years ago right after the start of our office. Contractor KBK did a fantastic job building this building, with sharp execution of the detailing, but also by excellent communication with the neighbours. Thanks to the whole team for the effort! New project: Earthwatch
In collaboration with the EarthFlag Foundation, MEESVISSER is developing the EarthWatch Pavilion. This refuge, right in the heart of Amsterdam, is an open call to contemplation and meditation. Derived from the shape of the Earth Flag logo, this pavilion presents itself as a light structure opened to the surrounding landscape, and invites visitors to come together, discuss and share a moment of peace.
We have an internship position available for a period of six months, starting asap. We’re currently working on a wide range of projects, from large scale housing to high-end interiors and we offer a nice working environment with lots to learn! More information on how to apply on our office page.
Honourable mention: Wood Market
Our design for the open competition for the Stockholm Workshop Center got an honourable mention. Our proposal is a public building that is conceived as an open gathering space. It is similar to a market square where production, trade, exhibition and knowledge-exchange take place. A warm, generous and transparent public building on the border between water and the city.
